Robinhood’s Three-Phase Plan to Bridge TradFi and DeFi via Tokenized Stocks
Robinhood is executing a bold strategy to bring traditional finance assets into decentralized ecosystems. The fintech firm's phased rollout begins with EU customers accessing tokenized stocks through its app—currently walled gardens holding 800+ securities. Phase two leverages its $200 million Bitstamp acquisition for 24/7 trading infrastructure.
The endgame? Phase three's permissionless withdrawals will let these tokens circulate freely across DeFi protocols. Arbitrum Stylus provides the technical backbone for this interoperability push. "We're building rails for finance to operate without gatekeepers," says Offchain Labs' AJ Warner, framing the move as structural change rather than incremental product development.
